Taking Steps to Bring Hope to Our Neighbors
The Friends of the Poor® Walk is the Society of St. Vincent de Paul's premier national fundraising event, uniting thousands of people across the country in a common mission—to bring hope, compassion, and practical assistance to neighbors experiencing poverty.
Whether you walk as an individual, gather a team of family and friends, or represent your parish, every step you take helps transform lives right here in our community.
Since the Walk began in 2008, Friends of the Poor Walk participants nationwide have raised more than $27 million to support local Conferences serving those most in need. During the 2025 Friends of the Poor Walk, St. Vincent de Paul Conferences across the United States continued this tradition of generosity, raising millions of dollars to provide emergency assistance to struggling families.

When you support the St. Vincent de Paul North San Fernando District Friends of the Poor Walk, 100% of the funds raised remain in the communities we serve.
Your donation helps our volunteer Vincentians provide compassionate, person-to-person assistance throughout our service area—from Chatsworth to Montrose, the Mid-Valley, and north to the Antelope Valley.
Your generosity makes it possible to provide:

Emergency rent and housing assistance to prevent homelessness

Utility assistance to keep families safely in their homes

Every participant becomes an ambassador for hope, helping spread awareness of poverty while inviting others to join this important mission.
