A core part of St. Vincent de Paul’s ministry is meeting with people face to face, usually in their homes. After you leave a message, here is what you can expect:
Call Back - We will contact you to learn more about your situation and schedule a home visit.
Home Visit - Two Vincentians will meet with you at your home, the parish office, or another convenient public location. During the visit, you can explain your situation in detail, and they may ask questions to better understand how we can help. Everything you share will remain confidential and will not be shared outside SVdP without your permission.
Evaluation – The two Vincentians who met with you will share their findings with the Conference. Together, the Conference will decide the best way to help. Assistance may include financial or material support (such as food or clothing) or referrals to other agencies better equipped to meet your needs. In some cases, the Conference may determine that it is unable to provide assistance.
Assistance – Once the Conference decides how it can help, you will be informed. If financial assistance is approved, payments will be made directly to the vendor rather than to you.
Follow Up - In many cases the Conference will follow up with you to see how you are doing.
